Shopify Financing Integration

Shopify has made adding consumer financing remarkably simple. Whether you want Affirm, Afterpay, Klarna, or Shop Pay Installments, integration is straightforward—often just a few clicks in your Shopify admin. But choosing the right options and optimizing their impact takes more thought.

Shop Pay Installments is Shopify's native BNPL option, powered by Affirm. It's the easiest to enable—just toggle it on in settings. Customers can split purchases into four biweekly payments or monthly installments. The familiar Shop Pay branding provides trust. Integration is seamless since it's built into Shopify.

Affirm integration (beyond Shop Pay) offers more flexibility. Longer terms (up to 36 months), higher limits, and promotional 0% APR options. Better for higher-ticket stores or those wanting extensive financing terms.

Afterpay works beautifully on Shopify. Install the app, connect your Afterpay merchant account, and the button appears at checkout. The Afterpay widget can also display monthly payments on product pages—a proven conversion booster.

Klarna, Zip, and other providers also offer Shopify apps. Each has strengths: Klarna's European presence, Zip's competitive rates, Sezzle's focus on younger demographics.

The question isn't whether to add financing—it's which options to add. Most successful Shopify stores offer 2-3 BNPL options to capture different customer preferences. A customer who doesn't want Affirm might love Afterpay. Give them choices.
